At Awards, Gifts and Engraving, we are here to help with all your needs, but sometimes art can cause a problem. To ensure your job gets done in a timely manner please follow the some basic requirements for art submission.
Acceptable Formats:
The following list contains formats that are acceptable to use and can help speed the process:
- CorelDraw (.cdr)
- Encapsulated Postscript (.eps)
- Adobe Illustrator (.ai)
The following are formats that you need to be aware may or may not work:
- Adobe Acrobat (PDF) – depends on the version
- Bitmap images – No, Nope, Just don’t do it
- If Bitmap is all you have, please note that some such as .tif, .jpg. or .bmp might be usable if the resolution is 300 DPI or better. If it is for engraving, black and white image is needed. If submitting a file in .jpg, .tif or .bmp the image MUST be the same size or larger than what will be produced for the final product.
Non-Acceptable Formats
The following formats will have us saying “No way, are you crazy or just stuck in the past?”
- Excel
- PageMaker
- PowerPoint
- QuarkXpress
- Any word processing program (eg. Microsoft Word)
Resolution
Some keys to remember on your art submission:
- 300 DPI or greater
- Absolutely, under no circumstances, NO WEBSITE GRAPHICS (it makes us start pulling out our hair)
Remember ORIGINAL ARTWORK IS ALWAYS BEST!
